Getting Ready!

Preparations So Far

My passport came sometime around last week.

I paid my tuition for Ukrainian Catholic University's Language and Culture Program in December, and I paid for my flights in January, 2018. My itinerary actually consists of 8 separate flights, so I need to be prepared for the fact that if one is delayed or cancelled, I may have to adjust other flights following that one.

Travel Add-Ons

After looking at many available options to spend a day on my way to and from to Lviv, I considered Amsterdam, Paris and Germany. Ultimately, I decided I wanted Croatia. All I could get was two days there on my way to Lviv, but 2 days is still a dream for me. On the way back, I get a night and a half-day in Poland also. I can't do everything all at once the first time I go to Eastern Europe. Besides, I'm primarily there for school. So, I think I've attached some really special add-ons both ways.

Nomatic Travel Bag

I have the Nomatic Travel Bag (New product that debuted on Indigogo). It's pretty amazing. It's a carry-on bag that can carry more than a large suitcase, and it's set up with charging ports. Instead of buying Nomatic's expensive extra accessories, I went to Marshall's travel section and got all the same things at very cheap prices. I'm already pretty set with some great travel accessories, including vacuum packing bags, wall socket adapters, passport and wallet protectors and luxurious a great travel pillow and blanket.

Travel Capsule Wardrobe

I also spent a long time on Pinterest learning how to put together a Wardrobe Travel Capsule. These amazing little fashion plans enable you to wear all different outfits for up to a month, using only about 12-15 pieces of clothing, including scarves, shoes and accessories. You chose only four colors, made up of 2-3 neutral colors and 1-2 accent colors. I'm using light blue, black, tan and purple for mine. My capsule is designed and bought. I'll take a picture when I have time. Huge fun to put together! (And I got it all on sale at Marshall's.)

Oversized Fossil Bag

(NEW but from a thrift store at 1/3 the regular price!) All I'll need to carry is my Nomatic Bag (as a carry on), my Fossil Bag (as a purse). I won't have to check anything in.
